SUMMARY:Seed sowing and growing for beginners
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to start growing flowers but don’t know where to begin? Then this workshop is for you. \nThis informative workshop will talk you through how to grow annual flowers from seed and how to care for them. We’ve curated a lovely selection of flowers that will provide you with flowers throughout Summer. Everyone will sow a mix of hardy and half-hardy annual seeds to take home and nurture. We will talk you through the process of caring for your seedlings all the way from sowing to pricking out\, potting on and then planting them out after the last frosts. No prior knowledge or experience is required. \nWe’ll be learning in a small group with plenty of tea and cake and sharing what we grow here on the flower farm. \nAll the materials are included: compost\, seed trays\, and a selection of seeds. DESCRIPTION:Ever wanted an inside look at how someone else manages their growing or new to flower farming? This workshop will talk you through how we plan our crops\, maximise our space and optimise production. \nAll flower farms are different\, so we’ll be giving an insight into how we do things and talking through how you can work out the best approach for your growing space. \nThe workshop includes:\n– A virtual tour of our growing spaces\n– Planning crops and using a spreadsheet tool\n– Maximising your germination rate and seed starting\n– Using grow lights\n– Planning successions\n– Managing conditions for growing\n– Optimising production \nWe’ll be learning in a small group and limit spaces to 6 per workshop to give everyone room to ask questions. There will be plenty of tea and cake.
